AGRI-NUTRITION GROUP ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER RESULTS; COMPANY ACHIEVES PROFITABILITY.

) today announced financial results for the quarter and nine months ended July 31, 1997.

Income from continuing operations for the quarter was $141,356, compared with the previous year's net loss from continuing operations of $19,342. Net income for the quarter was $128,117, or $0.02 per share, compared with a net loss of $9,474 in the previous year.

For the nine months ended July 31, 1997, net sales were $23.4 million, a 11.8% increase over net sales of $21.0 million for the year-earlier period. Gross profit for the nine months ended July 31, 1997, was $6.1 million compared with the prior year's $5.3 million. Income from continuing operations for the nine months ended July 31, 1997, was $34,159 compared with a net loss of $260,521 in the previous year. Net income for the first nine months of 1997 was $48,817, or $0.01 per share, compared with a net loss of $153,581, or $0.02 per share, for the year-earlier period.
