 AGREEMENT REACHED FOR CARGILL TO ACQUIRE
 FOUR OILSEED PLANTS FROM CONTINENTAL
 MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Cargill, Incorporated, and Continental Grain Company have reached a preliminary understanding for Cargill to acquire certain of Continental's oilseed processing operations, the two companies announced today. The transactions are subject to a number of contingencies, as well as normal due diligence, conclusion of definitive agreements and government approvals.
 The oilseed operations involved are four oilseed processing facilities -- in Guntersville, Ala.; Chivilcoy, Argentina; and Sydney and Moree, Australia -- and three feed mills in Australia.
 Continental's cotton and grain operations in Australia are separate, independent units are not included in the proposed transactions.
 Cargill is an international merchandiser, processor and transporter of agricultural and other commodities, based in Minneapolis. Continental, headquartered in New York City, is engaged globally in marketing commodities, and is a major processor and marketer of food related products and services to customers worldwide.
