AGOURON PHARMACEUTICALS NAMES ONCOLOGY ADVISORY BOARD

 SAN DIEGO, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Agouron Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: AGPH) today announced the appointment of five prominent oncologists to its newly formed Oncology Advisory Board. They are Joseph S. Bertino, M.D., Paul A. Bunn Jr., M.D., Emil J. Freireich, M.D., Daniel Von Hoff, M.D., and Rein Saral, M.D.
 Bertino is currently chairman of the molecular pharmacology and therapeutics program at Sloan-Kettering Institute for Cancer Research. Bunn is professor of medicine and head, division of medical oncology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver as well as director, University of Colorado Cancer Center. Freireich is professor of medicine, the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, clinical professor in the department of biophysical sciences at the University of Houston, and professor of medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Von Hoff is professor, department of medicine, as well as head, section of drug development, division of oncology, at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Saral is professor of medicine in the division of hematology/oncology at Emory University School of Medicine.
