City Clerk In the United States, a City Clerk is an elected or appointed official who is responsible as the official keeper of the municipal records. In some places, the Clerk may be known as the "Village Clerk" or "Town Clerk".  Patricia Manning is as committed to the community as she is to being a clerk.

Interested in learning as much as she could about her job, Manning has taken courses and attended seminars about running elections and preservingcity documents. This month, the Academy for Advanced Education of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, or IIMC IIMC International Institute of Municipal Clerks

The Academy membership, a group within the IIMC, is considered an honor As a verb, to accept a bill of exchange, or to pay a note, check, or accepted bill, at maturity. Manning has spent years working for area government officials, and has worked for the city of Agoura Hills in three different positions since 1983.

She began with the city as secretary to the city manager and became deputy city clerk in 1987. She has served as city clerk since 1990.

``I had to fill out an eight-page application saying what I've done, my community involvement, my involvement in clerk organizations,'' Manning said.

Manning, an area resident since 1968, raised her four children there and has seen the community change.

``I love Agoura Hills. Having lived here almost 30 years, I've watched the area grow, the city grow, and I've seen lots of good things happen,'' Manning said. ``There have been so many improvements.''
