PDSA veterinary surgeon Susan Somers, 51, died on Sunday afternoon after being injured when her daughter Amanda's horse was scared by a dog. Susan had been walking alongside the normally placid animal, while Amanda, 15, and a teenage friend sat on it. Witnesses said the startled horse reared into the air, kicking Susan and knocking her to the ground. She suffered severe head injuries.
