AGNITY Releases SIPr 2.0 Application Testing Platform Including New Features, Testing Tools to Support the IMS Next-Generation Network.

SIPr 2.0 Provides for the Simulation of Any Hardware, Software Environment Reducing the Average Testing Cycle by 75%

SILICON VALLEY, Calif. -- AGNITY, a leading provider of application solutions and services to mobile and fixed line service providers and enterprises, announced today a major upgrade and enhancement with the release of SIPr[TM] 2.0 open-source and professional services (job) professional services - A department of a supplier providing consultancy and programming manpower for the supplier's products.  editions, an application testing application testing - system testing  platform for the creation and quality assurance of voice, data, mobile and converged applications.

SIPr 2.0 (pronounced Sipper) is a comprehensive toolkit for converged SIP and HTTP HTTP

 space and provides the users complete flexibility and control. SIPr 2.0 users will find that they will not need to leave the test bench to perform any kind of application simulation or testing, thereby saving time and money in the development and quality assurance process.

In trials and actual testing, SIPr 2.0 has been shown to reduce test cycle times by an average of 75%. SIPr is fully-configurable at each layer of the protocol stack The set of protocols used in a communications network. A protocol stack is a prescribed hierarchy of software layers, starting from the application layer at the top (the source of the data being sent) to the data link layer at the bottom (transmitting the bits on the wire).  enabling developers to write and verify complex test cases in minutes. Tests are created in an iterative fashion allowing for automation and incremental testing.

The new features and benefits to SIPr version 2.0 include:

* IMS/ISC compliance

* Digest Server authentication support

* Presence event and registration event support

* TCP (1) (Transmission Control Protocol) The reliable transport protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite. TCP ensures that all data arrive accurately and 100% intact at the other end.  Transport support

* NAT traversal Passing through network address translation (NAT) to reach a user. NAT hides private IP addresses from the public Internet; however, voice over IP (VoIP) and videoconferencing calls that originate from outside the network must locate the user's IP address. See STUN, UPnP and NAT.

* Simplified gem installation

* Ability to run any test under any load

* Simplified media APIs

* Integrated Webserver for converged SIP and HTTP Server The software that services HTTP requests, which is the protocol of the Web. The term may refer only to the HTTP services in the Web server, or the term can be used as a synonym for "Web server." See Web server and HTTP.  tests

Said AGNITY vice president of engineering Nasir Khan, "SIPr 2.0 is the most complete open source testing platform available to developers supporting end-to-end testing from the network layer to the application layer offering complete SIP/ISC support and several additional RFCs required for IMS. Not only does it offer a complete toolkit to create user agents but is the only tool in market that can be used to simulate any IMS entity in the network."

Testing an application and its behavior on specific vendor equipment can lead to anomalies and delays if the application does not behave as anticipated. With SIPr 2.0, the development team can quickly simulate hardware equipment behavior or act like a B2BUA B2BUA Back-To-Back User Agent  and modify the SIP message to unblock un·block

 the testing. This is a great time saver and gives the development team time to work on addressing non-compliant behavior in parallel.

SIPr Test Frameworks (STFs) include best-of-breed tools and technologies from both AGNITY and the open source community. In its next release of SIPr, AGNITY plans to include the Diameter interface and other enhancements aimed at delivering the most comprehensive test environment for IMS and converged applications.
