AGL Resources Names James Gillis President of AGL Networks.

ATLANTA -- AGL Resources today announced that James Gillis has been named President of AGL Networks, effective immediately. Previously, Gillis served as vice president, sales and business development for AGL Networks. Gillis joined the company in 2003 as vice president of wholesale markets.

"When we looked for the right person to fill this position, we didn't have to look far," said Drew Evans, executive vice president and chief financial officer, whose responsibilities include oversight of AGL Networks. "It's not often you find the right balance between executive skills and client service. Jim knows what our network clients need and how to serve them."

Gillis was named vice president of sales and business development in January 2004. He was responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of sales and marketing of the wholesale and enterprise markets while evaluating new strategic markets for customers.

Gillis has over 25 years of sales and business development experience with the last 12 years in the telecommunications market. He spent the first 10 years of his career with Union Carbide in a sales and sales management role and then became a founding employee of KMC Telecom Holdings, a national CLEC with 35 Tier III operating markets. During his tenure with KMC, he held positions such as vice president Southeast Region, vice president market development, vice president carrier sales and service, and senior vice president data outsourcing.
