"Our hearts went out to our employees, friends and neighbors in Erath during Hurricane Rita - one of the most destructive storms to ever hit the community," said Grams. "We were able to quickly rebuild at JISH, but know that is not the case for most of the area. Giving to the local schools closest to Jefferson Island seemed one of the best ways to help and show we care." A company-wide fundraising campaign got underway at AGL Resources immediately following Hurricane Katrina and continued after Hurricane Rita. To date, approximately $450,000 has been raised from employees, retirees and the AGL Resources Private Foundation.
