Seniors are a growing and powerful group in this country - and one of the most ignored populations, says Joseph Solomon, founder of Americans for Elder Care Reform.

Solomon hopes his new radio program, ``Senior Focus,'' will help shed some light on senior issues such as lack of funds for care-giving and health-care reform.

``It's entirely for seniors, about the issues they care about,'' Solomon says. ``We want to create public awareness for seniors, care-giving institutions and families that can help and enhance the qualities of their lives.''

There are currently about 35 million Americans over the age of 65. In the next 12 years, a number of the nearly 80 million baby boomers See generation X.  will be entering this demographic.

``This is a powerful group that's going to explode (1) To break down an assembly into its component pieces. Contrast with implode.

 into the marketplace,'' Solomon says. ``Demographics The attributes of people in a particular geographic area. Used for marketing purposes, population, ethnic origins, religion, spoken language, income and age range are examples of demographic data.  are going to change dramatically.''

And, Solomon says, this explosion is exactly why such a radio show is needed.
