AGFUND, Swiss agency to work together against poverty.

RIYADH, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- Arab Gulf Program for United National Development

Organizations (AGFUND) and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation have

agreed to work together to fight poverty. Speaking to reporters following a meeting with a visiting Swiss agency

delegation, AGFUND Chairman Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz said he had agreed

with the Swiss team to jointly combat poverty, expand Open Arab University,

develop early childhood and empower Arab women. He added that the Swiss agency would help support the Center of Arab Women

for Training and Research in Tunisia. Seeking more development partners, the AGFUND is determined to step up

talks with the Swiss agency for crystallizing joint cooperation projects, he

said. The Swiss agency is the channel through which the federal government

provides development support and humanitarian assistant aiming to fight

poverty, improve environment and revamp educational and health services, he

remarked.
