``For the first time, I feel desperate,'' said the 31-year-old Pacoima resident, whose wife, Suleyma Landaverde, 21, gave birth to their daughter just last week. Mirabella met Boch and Landaverde when she visited their home as part of the agency's screening process. The couple rents a room for $300 a month in a Pacoima house they share with five other families. Boch and Landaverde sleep on a twin-size mattress on the floor. Their 3-1/2-year-old daughter, Diana, has her own smaller mattress. They don't yet have a crib for the baby. Boch is confident he can get another job in an auto body shop if he gets a decent set of tools.
