AGCO, Ag-Chem deal sealed.
AGCO has completed what is reportedly a $247 million acquisition of Ag-Chem, including the Terra-Gator, which has been added to AGCO's lineup of self-propelled sprayers and spreaders. The deal includes Ag-Chem's European manufacturing and sales subsidiary. Ag-Chem's headquarters in Minnetonka, Minn., and the manufacturing facilities in Benson and Willmar Willmar (wĭl`mär), city (1990 pop. 17,531), seat of Kandiyohi co., central Minn.; settled 1856, inc. as a city 1901. It is a railroad division point and a shipping center for grain and livestock. The city also processes turkey and other foods and manufactures plastics, machinery, and clothing., Minn., will be closed, and production will be centered in Ag-Chem's manufacturing facility in Jackson, Minn. Ron Hess, vice president and general manager, will head the Ag-Chem Division. Ag-Chem's Soilteq division will operate as a separate AGCO division under the supervision of Norm Boyd, senior vice president for corporate development.
