AFTER SIX ANNOUNCES CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY FILING

 PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- After Six, Incorporated, and two affiliated companies, announced today that they have filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in Philadelphia.
 After Six intends to seek prompt bankruptcy court approval of sale of its assets. After Six said it hopes to complete shipment of all open orders if it is successful in obtaining additional funding.
 Commenting on these developments, Victor E. Ameye Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of After Six, Incorporated, said, "I am disappointed that this may mark the end of many lifetime careers for loyal After Six employees but pleased that we have embarked on a program that will enable us to maximize the recovery to our creditors, while at the same time permitting the After Six' name to survive."
 After Six, Incorporated, which maintains its headquarters in Hunting Park Avenue and G Street in Northeast Philadelphia, was founded in 1903 and is the leading U.S. manufacturer and marketer of men's formal wear and related accessories for the rental and retail markets. In addition to the sale of products under the "After Six" label, it has sold products under designer labels such as "Christian Dior," "Henry Grethel," and "Bill Blass," it has sold products under private labels, and it has licensed the "After Six" brand name for men's formal wear in Japan and for such items as shirts, accessories, bridal gowns, eyewear, jewelry, formal socks and invitations domestically.
