AFTER SEPT. 11, 2001 PROOF ... THAT OUR FLAG WAS STILL THERE.Byline: CHARLES F. BOSTWICK Staff Writer LANCASTER -- A 24-foot-long mural of an American flag rippling in the wind will honor the victims of the 9-11 terrorist attacks on the Lancaster Elks Lodge's western wall. The mural, created by a local graphics company, joins a flag outside the lodge's main entrance, where one has flown for decades, and 10 U.S. flags on poles that were added on Sept. 12, 2001, the day after the attacks. ``We think it's going to be spectacular,'' said lodge member Bob Younkin, who led the effort. The mural will be dedicated at 5:30 p.m. Monday in a ceremony in honor of the people killed Sept. 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center in New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. The lodge is at 240 E. Ave. K. More than three dozen lodge members gave $100 or more each to pay for the mural, which cost nearly $4,000, Younkin said. The mural idea came from a visit by the lodge's Rage of the Sage camping club to an Elks lodge in Verb 1. lodge in - live (in a certain place); "She resides in Princeton"; "he occupies two rooms on the top floor" occupy, reside move in - occupy a place; "The crowds are moving in" stay at - reside temporarily; "I'm staying at the Hilton" Vista in San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850.
