, TX, has completed several projects to promote its ongoing activities using web-based technology. One major effort has been the development and distribution of a monthly AFS A distributed file system for large, widely dispersed Unix and Windows networks from Transarc Corporation, now part of IBM. The second development is the upgrading of the AFS website www.afssociety.org See .org.

The site has numerous features, making it easy to locate educational activities and answers to individual questions.

Additionally, beginning this month, AFS will sponsor web seminars on a monthly basis. For a nominal fee, participants can register and attend one-hour classes on topics covering a range of subjects from the basics of filtration to advanced classes for industry professionals. The target audience for the web seminars are specifiers, buyers and users of filters and filtration and separation equipment, along with manufacturers who supply filters and separation products. Information on web seminar dates and times will be published monthly in the AFS Newsletter and on the AFS website.
