), a leading provider of check imaging applications, will showcase its suite of image-enabled day-two check processing solutions, designed to facilitate the transition to truncation and check image exchange, at the BAI TransPay Conference 2003, the company announced today.

The AFS suite of image-enabled day-two solutions is built around incoming returns, outgoing returns and the printing of Image Replacement Documents (IRDs), or "Substitute Checks."

It is used on bank checks and deposit slips. MICR readers detect the characters and convert them into digital data.  and image to eliminate the movement of paper for the qualification of exception items. The AFS suite of day-two solutions is fully integrated to image archive, image capture systems, and legacy check processing systems to provide a seamless process between day-one and day-two operations.

The printing of Image Replacement Documents (IRDs) or "Substitute Checks" will allow banks to truncate To cut off leading or trailing digits or characters from an item of data without regard to the accuracy of the remaining characters. Truncation occurs when data are converted into a new record with smaller field lengths than the original.  100% of transit items as well as reduce physical sorting by sorting items electronically and printing substitute checks for return processing, as provided for in pending federal legislation.
