AFS Leaders Participate in OTT Energy Efficiency Symposium & Exposition.


AFS A distributed file system for large, widely dispersed Unix and Windows networks from Transarc Corporation, now part of IBM. It is noted for its ease of administration and expandability and stems from Carnegie-Mellon's Andrew File System.

), focused on the common challenges and opportunities facing energy-intensive industries. AFS and foundry representatives contributed to the success of the symposium in a variety of ways, including: GM Powertrain GM Powertrain Europe is a company created by General Motors to develop engines and transmission for the GM group.

It was known as Fiat-GM Powertrain until the termination of the GM and Fiat merger talks, and earlier as Opel Powertrain.

The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees.  and workforce development; Al Scargall, GM, presented an award to the Saginaw, Michigan High School engineering team that won recognition for solving the metalcasting technology challenge; and the Cast Metals Coalition selected Sen. Herb Kohl (R-Wis) to be recognized for his commitment and support of the Metalcasting Industry of the Future program funding. Kohl was formally recognized at the AFS Washington conference this month.
