AFS Chapter news.More than 70 representatives from 34 chapters convened in Elk Grove Village Elk Grove Village, village (1990 pop. 33,429), Cook and Du Page counties, NE Ill., a suburb of Chicago; inc. 1956. With a population of c.100 at the time of its establishment on open farmland, the village has grown dramatically and steadily, largely because of its , Ill., Aug. 10-11, for this year's AFS A distributed file system for large, widely dispersed Unix and Windows networks from Transarc Corporation, now part of IBM. The program included opening speeches by AFS President Albert Lucchetti (at left), Cumberland Foundry Co., Cumberland, R.I., and Jim Frost (at right), ACIPCO ACIPCO American Cast Iron Pipe Company , Birmingham, Ala.
