CMI (Computer-Managed Instruction) Using computers to organize and manage an instructional program for students. It helps create test materials, tracks the results and monitors student progress.  Will Offer Video Conferencing See videoconferencing.

(communications) video conferencing - A discussion between two or more groups of people who are in different places but can see and hear each other using electronic communications.

At its April meeting, the CMI Board of Directors approved the purchase of a video conferencing system for CMI. The equipment will allow CMI to conduct live presentations from AFS Headquarters to as many as three remote sites simultaneously. Plans are to offer in-plant courses first and then cosponsored chapter programs via this media. In addition to travel savings for students and CMI staff, video conferencing will allow a course to be taken in shorter increments over a longer period of time as compared to regular classroom programs. For example, a course may be offered four hr per week over four weeks rather than in two full days. The system is expected to be operational by September.
