AFLAC President and CFO Cloninger Joins TSYS Board.


COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Kriss Cloninger III, president and chief financial officer of AFLAC Inc., was elected to the TSYS board of directors on July 20. His term begins immediately, and he will stand for re-election by TSYS shareholders at the next annual meeting of shareholders in April 2005.

"Based on his contributions to AFLAC's enviable history of shareholder returns and experience in Asian markets, Kriss is a wonderful addition to our board of directors as TSYS continues its record of growth and international expansion," says Richard W. Ussery, chairman of the board of TSYS. Cloninger joined AFLAC in 1992 as a senior vice president and chief financial officer. He became president in 2001, retaining the title of CFO. Since joining AFLAC, his primary responsibilities have included financial management of all company operations in the United States and Japan.

Cloninger also plays a key role in developing strategic and operational plans for AFLAC, including the company's yen-debt financing program, the share repurchase program, capital hedging strategy and profit repatriation strategy, among others.

Cloninger also serves on the boards of directors for AFLAC Inc. and Tupperware Corporation.
