SPARTANBURG, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 25, 2003

Alcoa's AFL AFL: see American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations.  Telecommunications announces the release of its FCC (1) (Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC, www.fcc.gov) The U.S. government agency that regulates interstate and international communications including wire, cable, radio, TV and satellite. The FCC was created under the U.S. 2 Fiber Connector Cleaner, and Connector Cleaning Tips.

The FCC2 Fiber Connector Cleaner is a non-flammable, environmentally safe, residue free solvent designed to clean fiber connector end faces. This non-hazardous cleaner is safe to ship via all modes of transport including air cargo. It's faster drying than alcohol, and leaves no residue. The high purity cleaning fluid is double filtered to .2 microns. It dissolves light oils, salts, grime and uncured epoxies and is especially effective when used with AFL's Connector Cleaning Tips.

The Connector Cleaning Tips use a molded, sintered sin·ter

polymer cleaning tip rather than a fabric or foam-covered stick so it traps contamination and wick cleaning solvents from bulkhead connectors. The cleaning tip is porous and pliable to conform to virtually any fiber end-face polish geometry. Its dual-head design permits wet and dry cleaning in one swab, and is available in standard and military connector sizes. Both products are available through Noyes Fiber Systems, a division of AFL Telecommunications. The FCC2 Fiber Connector Cleaner and Connector Cleaning Tips will be showcased during the Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) conference March 25 - 28 in Atlanta.
