AFGM Entertainment Presents 'The Retired Football Players Comedy/Award and Silent Auction'.PHOENIX -- AFGM AFGM A Few Good Men (Howard University) AFGM American Federation of Grain Millers Entertainment, along with current and retired professional football players, will bring celebrities to the Phoenix metropolitan community. The Silent Auction will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2008, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Skye Entertainment Venue in Peoria, Ariz.; the Comedy/Award Benefit will begin at 8 p.m. Professional Football Players of the '60s, '70s and '80s who suffer from disabilities brought on by years of punishment from football need our help. These retired, disabled players are in dire need as a direct result of inadequate disability pension or other support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services provided by the NFL NFL abbr. Our donations can help players with medical costs, food, clothing, shelter, transportation, hands-on coordination and support services. We are asking football fans across this nation to stand up for the disabled players who can no longer stand up for themselves to take care of their day-to-day needs. Come meet, greet and enjoy these brave gladiators gladiators [Lat.,=swordsmen], in ancient Rome, class of professional fighters, who performed for exhibition. Gladiatorial combats usually took place in amphitheaters. They probably were introduced from Etruria and originally were funeral games. who helped build the NFL to this wonderful game we've all come to LOVE! The goal and mission for this Comedy/Award Benefit and Silent Auction is to create public awareness to help raise funds for the guys who brought us so many football memories. Recognizing disabled, retired former football players should not be seen as an attempt to point fingers or blame. Our focus is to be part of the solution rather than the problem. It all makes for a perfect combination with comedians, including headliner Michael Finney, and live music by Yorman Williams and Friends.
