AFFINITY NETWORK INCREASES CUSTOMER BASE BY REDUCING MONTHLY MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Affinity Network, a leading long distance company based in Los Angeles, announced today that it will now offer reduced long distance rates for businesses that spend over $100 per month. Previously, the minimum usage for Affinity customers was $250 per month.
The move allows many businesses that previously did not qualify for the service the ability to save up to 45 percent on their long distance charges.
"Many businesses in Los Angeles would love to take advantage of our discount rates and enjoy the benefits of the state-of-the-art fiber optic network," says Robert Lichtenstein, chief executive officer of Affinity. "By reducing the minimum requirement from $250 to $100 per month, many companies are now eligible to receive a substantial reduction on their long distance bill."
The Affinity Network has been operating in Los Angeles since 1985 and currently serves about 9,000 clients. Affinity is a national company which is licensed to conduct business throughout the country.
Affinity charges a flat rate for long distance users of 15.7 cents per minute. The 15.7 cents rate applies to all interstate calls made in the continental United States. Affinity bills their customers in six- second increments and has a billing minimum of 18 seconds, compared to the major carriers which can carry a 30- to 60-second minimum. Many clients of the Affinity Network enjoy this rate structure because of their ability to save money by not paying for unused time.
"With AT&T, MCI or Sprint, it's possible to make an 18-second call and get charged for 30 seconds or one minute," says Lichtenstein. "It doesn't seem like much, but the pennies do add up. AT&T may charge 24 cents for a call of less than one minute. With our flat rate of 15.7 cents per minute and an 18-second minimum, we could charge about 4 1/2 cents for the same call. Since many business calls last for well under a minute, you can see that the savings really do add up. Companies that spend $500 per month with AT&T or MCI can easily save up to $1,800 per year with Affinity. We feel that we are even with AT&T in terms of quality and service, and we can provide businesses doing between $100 to $3,000 in monthly long distance with a substantial savings."
Businesses doing over $100 in monthly long distance may receive a 30-day trial with Affinity by calling 800-SAVE-ANI.
"We'll reimburse all switching fees to get you started, and if you don't feel that you're saving money, we'll pay to switch you back. There's no risk and no contract to sign. Affinity customers receive service on a month-to-month basis," declares Lichtenstein. "If you truly believe in the quality of the service you provide, customers will remain loyal. I don't believe in hiding behind some worthless three- year contract."
