AFFILIATION - GUILD OF I.C.I.A. AND C.I.M.


The Guild of Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Accountants (I.C.I.A.) is an association of business accountants, financial managers, taxation specialists and accounting executives with members in every province of Canada For other uses, see Provinces and territories of Canada and Ecclesiastical Province of Canada.

The Province of Canada or the United Province of Canada was a in North America from 1841 to 1867.
 as well as some other parts of the world. The Guild was founded in 1956 and incorporated by Federal Charter in 1961. It promotes and supports interest in vocational accountancy; encourages acceptance of modern methods and procedures and gives recognition to the individual's skills and practical experience. The Guild also issues a quarterly Journal, which contains articles of interest to our membership.

There are two primary classes of membership. A student of a recognized curriculum in Accounting or a related field is eligible for Associate member status. A graduate of such a programme who has completed the requisite five years practical work experience may be accepted an an Accredited accredited

recognition by an appropriate authority that the performance of a particular institution has satisfied a prestated set of criteria.
