AF&PA honors six paper-recycling programs.


The American Forestry and Paper Association, Washington, D.C., USA announced six winners of the 2002 Best Paper Recycling Paper recycling is the process of recovering waste paper and remaking it into new paper products. There are three categories of paper that can be used as feedstocks for making recycled paper: mill broke, pre-consumer waste, and post-consumer waste.  Awards Contest. The awards recognize the efforts of those who made it possible for the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  to recycle 48% of all paper in 2001. Winners include: The Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation, Nashville, Tennessee; Navy Whicbey Recycle, Oak Harbor, Washington Oak Harbor is a city located on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington. The population was 19,795 at the 2000 census.
