Enhanced Support Program Provides Additional Aid

as Compliance Deadlines Approach

AES-IntelliNet Alarms, a division of AES Corp, announced today an expanded support program for organizations that need to upgrade and modify wireless radio alarm based systems to meet NTIA NTIA National Telecommunications & Information Administration

narrowband In communications, transmission rates up to T1 speeds (1.544 Mbps). The upper limit is moving target. At one time, narrowband meant 150 bps (that is 150 bits per second!). Then, the upper limit became 2,400 bps. Later, it moved to 64 Kbps. Contrast with wideband and broadband.  compliance standards. The NTIA narrowband compliance standards apply to all products utilizing radio based wireless transmission for a variety of purposes. Most of the systems currently in use do not meet narrowband standards and must be modified. The deadlines for compliance begin as soon as January 2005.

All AES-IntelliNet Alarm products are narrowband compliant and serve primarily the fire and intrusion security market. The new NTIA standards were enacted to promote the efficient use of federal radio spectrum, and will take effect as early as January 2005. The standards dictate TO DICTATE. NTIA Narrowband Compliance Standards

The NTIA Narrowband Compliance standards have been instituted in order to better manage the allocation of frequency spectrum for wireless communications wireless communications

AES-IntelliNet NTIA Compliance Support Program

AES-IntelliNet offers technical and product support programs that help bring organizations into NTIA compliance requirements Compliance requirements are a series of directives established by United States Federal government agencies that summarize hundreds of Federal laws and regulations applicable to Federal assistance (also known as Federal aid or Federal funds).  and support radio alarm monitoring needs. The AES-IntelliNet support program includes:

-- Conducting a site survey of installed transceivers to

determine available options for meeting the NTIA requirements

and develop a timely conversion process.

-- Conducting training classes on how to install AES-IntelliNet

products so on-site personnel can complete the required

conversions.

-- Providing installation certification and service for

AES-IntelliNet products.

-- Providing ongoing support for AES-IntelliNet products.

Established in 1974, AES Corp. is the industry leader delivering high reliability wireless mesh networks (1) A network that relies on all nodes to propagate signals. Although the wireless signal may start at some base station (access point) attached to a wired network, a wireless mesh network extends the transmission distance by relaying the signal from one computer to another.  to multiple industries including the fire alarm and burglary/intrusion market. Wireless mesh networking is an innovative technology for applications that need to communicate data over a large geographic area with a high level of reliability at a low cost of ownership. AES-IntelliNet network users in the Fire & Burglary/Intrusion Alarm industry have gained significant revenue, communications and cost advantages while meeting the high standards of reliability required. AES-IntelliNet Alarm products are UL and NFPA NFPA National Fire Protection Association
NFPA National Food Processors Association
NFPA National Fluid Power Association
NFPA National Federation of Paralegal Associations (Edmonds, WA)
approved. AES-IntelliNet systems are used in over 100,000 locations in over 130 countries.
