AES files $750 million universal shelf registration statement.


ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 1996--The AES Corp. (NYSE NYSE

: AES) announced Monday that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission under which it may offer, from time to time, up to $750 million of securities.

The filing, often referred to as a "universal shelf", registers a variety of securities for possible future sale, including senior debt, senior and junior subordinated debt Subordinated Debt
