AES Names Eduardo Jose Bernini New Vice President of the AES Corporation and CEO of Eletropaulo.

: AES) announced today that Eduardo Jose Bernini has been appointed Vice President of AES and Chief Executive Officer of Eletropaulo, the electric distribution company serving 4.6 million customers in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Mr. Bernini's appointments are effective as of September 1, 2003.

Prior to joining AES and Eletropaulo, Mr. Bernini was Chief Executive Officer of EDP (Electronic Data Processing) The first name used for the computer field.
