JUNCTION, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2000

Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:AERTA), a leader in wood composite technology, announced that its Junction, Texas, manufacturing facility has continued to operate and has not been damaged by the excessive rainfall and flooding that has hit the Texas Hill Country and South Texas over the past week.

According to Chairman Joe G. Brooks, "Although the unseasonable wet weather has caused flooding in many areas, including the roads into and around the Texas plant, the Company has maintained operations at reduced capacity throughout the period."

"We are pleased of the way our Junction plant associates performed during this difficult period; especially those who stayed and operated the facility during the storms and while the roads surrounding the plant were under water. We believe that we will be able to resume normal operations next week," stated Brooks.

Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. manufactures a growing line of composite building materials made from recycled polyethylene plastic and waste wood fiber.
