AZUSA, Calif., and TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Aerojet Electronic Systems Division, Azusa, and CMS, Inc., Tampa, today announced the signing of a teaming agreement to pursue armament subsystem opportunities for the U.S. government.
"With the rapid decline of the U.S. defense budget, pooling the resources of two premier companies to improve our competitive position provides benefits to all involved," commented Dr. Joseph Carleone, vice president-Armament Programs, Aerojet. "Our team's priority is to provide continual customer satisfaction throughout every stage of a project, from the very first thoughts of R&D to the final stage -- demilitarization."
The Aerojet-CMS team will focus its efforts on design, development and production of warheads for tactical missiles and related submunitions. Under the agreement, the Aerojet-CMS team will offer prime contractors a complete capabilities package to fully support the U.S. government's needs for custom-designed missile, warhead and armament subsystems.
With a combined armaments experience base of 70 years, the team said the alliance will offer a broader range of technical capabilities as well as improved responsiveness to customers. The team is currently studying several opportunities and will later announce plans for specific program pursuits.
"Our customers will benefit from this alliance because together we offer industry leadership for development of advanced technology armament products ... as well as the best combination of resources and expertise needed for cost containment of future armament systems," said Frank Ragano, CMS, Inc., president and CEO.
