Critics Stateside were furious this year when UIP told them there'd be no advance showings of Charlize Theron's new sci-fi caper. They shouldn't have worried because Aeon Flux was a woeful way to waste 90 minutes and is already been spoken of as this year's Catwoman.

Theron - who, don't forget, won an Oscar for Monster - played a lycrawearing freedom fighter determined to bring down the evil rulers of a walled city. And she wasn't the only so-called decent actor who signed up for this disaster, with Pete Postlethwaite, Frances McDormand and Sophie Okonedo also appearing.
