 (American Electronics Association The American Electronics Association (now known as AeA) is a nationwide non-profit trade association that represents all segments of the technology industry in the United States. ), Friday announced the winners of its Seventh Annual High-Tech Awards event.

The awards ceremony was held last night at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin before an enthusiastic audience representing the local high-tech business and academic community.

The High-Tech Awards are presented to local companies and executives that have demonstrated excellence in technology innovation and leadership in their respective fields.

The AEA 2000 High-Tech Award winners are: Datum The singular form of data; for example, one datum. The award for Outstanding Executive of a public company went to Powerwave Technologies, Inc., chief executive officer Bruce Edwards; and for a private firm, Casey Crandall, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Wright Capacitors, Inc. Bert Weinstein, Venture Point, was recognized as this year's Outstanding Mentor/Angel and the annual Greg Ross Memorial Award was given to Nick E. Yocca, president and co-founder of Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth.
