ADVO Selects Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP as Legal Counsel.

: AD) today announced that it has selected the national law firm of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  to meet the company's legal needs.

Stephen L. Palmer, a partner in Kirkpatrick & Lockhart's Boston office, will be responsible for ADVO's legal matters effective August 1, 2003. In addition, he will serve as Corporate Secretary. Palmer is a graduate of Harvard College Harvard College is the undergraduate section and oldest school of Harvard University, founded in 1636 by the Massachusetts Legislature. The College is instructed by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, which also instructs the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.  and Georgetown University Law Center Also attended

"As ADVO's business has grown and become more complex, we have developed a need for a full-service legal firm that can give us national access to specialists in areas of law such as antitrust and trade regulation, government and regulatory, employment, international, and acquisitions, among others," said ADVO Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. The firm replaces legal counsel that has traditionally been provided in-house for ADVO. As a result, David Stigler, ADVO's Senior Vice President and General Counsel, is leaving the company. Stigler will provide transition support until November 1, 2003.
