          What: Experts from The MathWorks will chair and
                participate in several technical sessions, participate
                in an industry panel, and showcase demonstrations of
                Model-Based Design for the automotive industry at the
                world's largest meeting and exposition devoted to
                automotive engineering and product technology.

        Robyn Jackey and Paul Smith of The MathWorks and Steven
        Bloxham of Compressor Control Company will present a paper
        titled "Physical System Model of a Hydraulic Energy Storage
        Device for Automotive Application."

        As part of the Advanced Hybrid Vehicle Powertrains (Part 3 of
        5) session (Code: P21,) this session will discuss alternatives
        to chemical batteries for some hybrid vehicle applications,
        including an electromechanical battery (EMB) that combines an
        electric machine with hydrapneumatics to provide energy
        capture, storage, and propulsion assistance.

    --  Wednesday, April 13, 8:00 a.m., Room D2-09/10

        Peter Maloney of The MathWorks will chair the Electronic
        Engine Controls - Modeling II session (Part 5; Code P24).

    --  Wednesday, April 13, 3:00 p.m., Room W1-54

        Tom Erkkinen of The MathWorks will present a paper titled
        "Model Style Guidelines for Production Code Generation."

        As part of the Distributed Embedded Systems Energy (Parts 1 &
        2) session (Code: AE9), this session will provide model style
        guidelines and best practices for automatically generating
        optimized fixed-point and floating-point code.

    --  Wednesday, April 13, 5:00 p.m., Room D2-09/10

        Peter Maloney of The MathWorks will participate in the panel
        "Electronic Engine Controls Discussion Panel--What are the
        Critical Issues for the Next 5 Years?" (Part 8).

        Patrick Leteinturier, Infineon Technologies AG; Peter M. Olin,

        Arvind Hosagrahara and Paul Smith of The MathWorks will
        present a paper titled "Measuring Productivity and Quality in
        Model-Based Design."

        Included in the Software/Hardware Systems (Parts 1 & 2)
        session (Code: AE17), this session will discuss how
        productivity and quality are measured differently when using
        Model-Based Design and will share an automatic, noninvasive
        measurement technique for gathering accurate metrics. Arvind
        and Paul will describe specific measurements that should be
        captured when using Model-Based Design and introduce a free
        tool that can capture these process metrics in Simulink(R) and
        Stateflow(R).
