What: Metawave Communications Corp. (Nasdaq:MTWV) will host a

conference call to discuss it has entered into a definitive

agreement to acquire privately held Adaptive Telecom, Inc.,

a developer of 3G compatible, adaptive embedded smart

antenna technology. The acquisition will enable Metawave to

accelerate the deployment of adaptive array smart antenna Smart antenna (also known as adaptive array antennas, multiple antennas and recently MIMO) refers to a system of antenna arrays with smart signal processing algorithms that are used to identify spatial signal signature such as the direction of arrival (DOA) of the signal, and use  

systems for 3G wireless networks to boost voice and data

capacity by over 200 percent, solidifying Metawave's leading

position in the wireless infrastructure marketplace.
