Details: The increased complexity in IC design and manufacturing
has spawned entire specialized industries that
collectively represent elements of a new global supply
chain. At first glance, there are opportunities to
outsource semiconductor design and manufacturing,
making the vertically integrated device manufacturer
obsolete. However, some pieces of the supply chain do
not exist as outsourced commodities and managing the
global network is more difficult than it may seem.
Join executives from the semiconductor community in a
discussion of how system OEMs and fabless companies can
reap the benefits of the new outsourced supply chain
and learn the implications it will have on the industry
as a whole.
