WHAT: Former Beatle Ringo Starr will introduce his 2001 All Starr
Band and perform during a live news conference from Ontario,
Canada on Yahoo! Broadcast, followed by a live chat on Yahoo!
Chat. Ringo also will discuss his plans for the new summer
tour, as well as the upcoming release of his much-anticipated
three-CD box set "The Anthology... So Far" and DVD.
WHO: Ringo Starr is hitting the road this summer with his most
eclectic and talented All Starr Band ever! This year's line-up
includes glamorous percussionist Sheila E., Greg Lake from
Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Supertramp's Roger Hodgson, "Young
Dude" Ian Hunter, and new waver Howard Jones. But the band
isn't the only thing that's new: Ringo is promising to perform
a number of songs live for the first time on this year's tour,
including "Octopus's Garden" and "Don't Pass Me By."
WHEN: On Tuesday, July 24th at 11:00 a.m. EDT/8:00 a.m. PDT, Yahoo!
Broadcast will stream Ringo Starr's news conference and
performance live from Ontario, Canada. Ringo will chat with
fans later in the day at 8:00 p.m. EDT/5:00 p.m. PDT about his
new band, the summer tour, the new three-CD box set "The
Anthology...So Far" and DVD. Note: Ringo will be the last of
the surviving Beatles to chat on Yahoo!. Both Sir Paul
McCartney and George Harrison have chatted previously on
Yahoo!.
