WHAT: American International TOY FAIR(TM) is set to break the
current Guinness World Record for "Participants in a
Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony" with the mamma of all ribbon-cutting
ceremonies. More than 3,300 participants with scissors in
hand, will cut the 6,450 feet of ribbon to officially open the
historical 100th year celebration of TOY FAIR.
WHEN: Sunday, February 16th -- 8:30 a.m.
VISUALS:
A red ribbon will stretch through miles of the TOY FAIR aisles
at Javits with more than 3,300 people at the ready to cut. The
ribbon will travel through a giant-sized wagon and various
other toys.
A 5-foot-high decorative toy-themed cake, and 10 sheet cakes
created by 4 chefs and 12 students from The Art Institute of
New York City's Culinary School. Total ingredients for the
cakes are 65 pounds of rolled fondant, 15 pounds of sugar, 150
eggs and 20 pounds of butter.
A set stage will have themed kids' characters, local
dignitaries (listed below) and other VIPs ready to cut and let
the playing begin.
