Critical Information

WHO: Admiral Richard H. Carmona M.D., U.S. Surgeon General
Dr. James Betts, surgeon-in-chief, Children's Hospital,
        Oakland, Calif.
Ken Munson, Deputy Secretary, Wisconsin Department of Health
        and Family Services
Joe Plasterer, Director of Government Solutions, Sonic Foundry
        (Nasdaq:SOFO)

WHAT: Each year in Wisconsin, thousands of people die or are
disabled due to traumatic injuries. To counteract this trend,
the state's Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS),
in collaboration with trauma experts, has been developing a
statewide trauma care system -- an organized approach for the
comprehensive prevention and care of all injuries and
        patients.

On Sept. 2, DHFS is sponsoring a special forum in Madison,
Wis., featuring guest speakers Surgeon General Richard Carmona
and trauma expert Dr. James Betts. The forum was developed to:
increase awareness of challenges facing trauma and emergency
medical systems from a federal and state perspective; promote
Wisconsin's trauma care system as a key to decreasing
        mortality and morbidity among state residents and visitors;
educate Wisconsin on federal initiatives taken to strengthen
state trauma systems; and heighten awareness of the
relationship between day-to-day injury care and preparations
needed to respond to a potential mass casualty event.

DHFS will use Sonic Foundry's Mediasite Live to create an
on-demand Webcast of the event that will be available from the
agency's Web site. Next week's forum illustrates a growing
trend among public health departments and other government
agencies who increasingly turn to the Web to communicate
critical information with speed, ease and convenience. Whether
it is to enhance awareness of communicable diseases or promote
a new statewide trauma system, public health officials are
finding that systems like Mediasite Live provide the perfect
conduit for disseminating detailed and accurate information to
medical professionals, the media and general public.

WHEN: Forum Title: Working For a Safer Wisconsin: The Value of a
        Statewide Trauma Care System
        Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
