ADVISORY/Widespread Electronic Check Clearing Closer to Reality; Fiserv Representatives Available to Discuss Implications of Check Truncation Act.

Business Editors/Assignment Desks

ADVISORY...

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

WHAT: The Check Truncation Act, also known as Check 21, encourages
the use of check images versus paper checks for processing and
clearing. The bill, which was signed into law today by
President Bush, will have significant implications for banks,
financial services companies, businesses and consumers. While
Check 21 does not mandate the use of images, the law is
expected to encourage innovation in electronic check clearing.

Expert resources from Fiserv Inc. - the nation's largest
third-party processor of checks - are available to address:

-- The basics of check imaging.

-- The overall benefits of Check 21.

-- How further use of check imaging will reduce check fraud.

-- How Check 21 will be implemented.

-- What Check 21 could mean for business and consumers.
