WHAT:     Five percent of the stores' total sales on this day will be
          used to purchase equipment and support the Salads in School
          program.

          The Salads in School program is a collaboration between
          Whole Foods Market and the Los Angeles Unified School
          District to provide healthy and fresh food alternatives to
          local school children.  The salad bars will be installed in
          early February.

          Whole Foods Market has always adhered to their motto, "Whole
          Foods, Whole People, Whole Planet."(TM)  Donating money to
          aid schools implement healthy salad bars is simply a part of
          supporting the communities in which they live.
