In early March, TechNet announced its CEO Cyber Security Task Force, made up of chief executives of some of the nation's leading computer networking, hardware, software, and cyber security companies. The members are working on targeted initiatives to inform cyber security policymaking, promote business survivability and cyber security practices, and support public-private efforts to protect the Internet. The TechNet Cyber Security Task Force includes executives from 3Com, Courion, Cranite, Cyber-Ark Software, Guardent, Hewlett Packard, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Qualys, Netegrity, RSA Security, Start-Up Partners, Symantec, VeriSign, TippingPoint, and Wind River Systems, among others.

TechNet is a national, bipartisan network of CEOs that promotes the growth of technology industries and the economy by building long-term relationships between technology leaders and policymakers and by advocating a targeted policy agenda. TechNet, based in Silicon Valley, has offices in Seattle, Boston, Austin, and Orange County (California).
