ADVISORY/Visionaries From Diverse Fields, Futuristic Demos, and Innovative, Interactive Meeting Technology Merge At Intel's Computing Continuum Conference.Business Editors/High Tech Writers ADVISORY...for Wednesday-Friday (March 15-17) --(BUSINESS WIRE)
WHAT: The Intel Computer Continuum Conference will bring
together some of the best minds from academia,
government research labs, and industry to explore
the notion of "pervasive computing" in the next 20
years.
Speakers: Thirty-five distinguished speakers will be
featured, including the president of AT&T
Laboratories, the Undersecretary of Education, the
president of the American Civil Liberties Union
(ACLU), top researchers from Xerox Palo Alto
Research Center and MIT Media Labs, and many more.
Sessions: Conference sessions will examine both
technical and sociological implications of pervasive
computing, such as the emergence of ubiquitous
networked devices interwoven with the physical
world, programming concepts beyond software,
fundamental changes in human-computer interaction,
and the societal and legal structures that will
emerge in the frontier of this technological and
human interaction.
Demos: The Conference will showcase a wide array of
prototypes.. Computers in unusual locations like
footwear, a wireless pen that writes on any surface
used as a natural input device instead of a
keyboard, software systems for dynamic vision and a
mobile computer smaller than a bar of soap consuming
only 1.5 watts and weighing 230 grams are just a few
of the futuristic demos being showcased.
Format: The Computing Continuum Conference is not
just another conference. It is designed to be an
interactive laboratory using 350 networked notebook
computers, along with advanced software and hardware
to capture the collective wisdom of the audience as
well as the presenters. The use of moderated chat
rooms enable conference attendees to actively
contribute rather than passively listen.
The Conference is sponsored by Intel Corporation in
association with the Association for Computing
Machinery (ACM). For more conference information,

WHEN: Press are invited to attend a luncheon with
