families, Washington State Trial Lawyers Association,
Washington Citizen Action and members of the Trust Juries
coalition.
What: Victims' advocates and consumer groups will discuss the impact
of malpractice liability caps and commend U.S. Senator Maria
Cantwell and U.S. Senator Patty Murray for their stalwart
support of patient rights in the planned February 24 Senate
vote on S2061. The federal bill includes provisions on
liability caps that mirror local bills currently under review
in the Washington state legislature.
WSTLA will also release the results of a recent survey with
important information about the impact of medical secrecy
agreements on patient safety.
