What:            Just in time for Mother's Day, Verizon Wireless
                 announces a more affordable rate to help customers
                 stay in touch with family and friends in Mexico -- 10
                 cents a minute with a monthly access fee of $2.99
                 (contract renewal required).  The event will include
                 calls to Mexico and demonstrations of other
                 Latino-inspired services -- Latin ring tones, Spanish
                 411, Spanish voicemail and Spanish Web site.

When/Where:      Tuesday, May 6, 2003
                 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. or later by media request

Why:             Special calling rates to Mexico are the first in a
                 series of 2003 Verizon Wireless initiatives aimed at
                 directly meeting the needs of Latinos.
