--(BUSINESS WIRE)

WHAT: The Port of Corpus Christi will be honored by the United
States Maritime Administration (MARAD) for its impressive
performance through OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Corpus
Christi was the top port authority for military loadouts
amongst U.S. ports. The award will be given during a
special ceremony honoring the outstanding work of civilian
Merchant mariners, who got the equipment to war, aboard
the Ready Reserve Force Ship, MV CAPE TAYLOR in support of
            OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.

Designated as a U.S. strategic military seaport in 1997,
the Port of Corpus Christi had never before conducted a
military loadout to this magnitude. Often times, three
ships were simultaneously worked at noncontiguous docks.
Overall, the Port of Corpus Christi, through a coordinated
effort with MARAD, 1192nd Transportation Terminal Brigade
and the U.S. Coast Guard, loaded 31 ships with 17,827
pieces of equipment from more than 3,200 rail cars and
            more than 1,400 trucks.

The MV CAPE TAYLOR marks the first returning military
vessel to the Port of Corpus Christi.
