As part of the Environmental Protection Agency's ongoing outreach efforts to the Hispanic community, Administrator Christie Whitman Whitman, town (1990 pop. 13,240), Plymouth co., SE Mass., S of Boston; settled c.1670, set off from Abington and inc. 1875. It is an industrial town that manufactures shoes, plastics, foundry products, and textile machinery. The Toll House (1709) is restored. will visit Miami on Thursday, November 14, 2002.

Whitman will participate in a variety of events including a meeting with city officials, a school visit to address the importance of the environment on children's health and an informal discussion with Hispanic seniors to discuss the agency's new aging initiative.
