ADVISORY/UCLA Anderson Business Forecast to be Released On September 27, 2000.

WHAT:   The quarterly UCLA Anderson Business Forecast conference will
        feature panels that explore the economics of the 2000
        presidential campaign including social security, health and
        education. The half-day conference will include the economic
        forecasts for California and the nation, and will examine
        whether politicians are being overly optimistic in scrambling
        to spend the US budget surplus based on the assumption that
        the current economic situation will continue.

        LONG-TERM ECONOMIC OUTLOOK
        --  Forecasting Director Ed Leamer will offer the
            opening remarks.
        --  Rajeev Dhawan, Director of Econometric Forecasting, will
            present the national economic outlook as well as the
            predictions for California.

        SOCIAL SECURITY
        --  Stephen Moore, Director of Fiscal Policy Studies,
            Cato Institute
        --  Laurence J. Kotlikoff, Professor of Economics,
            Boston University

        EDUCATION
        --  Janet Currie, Professor of Economics, UCLA

        HEALTH
        --  Mark Smith, CEO, California Health Care Foundation
        --  Mark McClellan, Assistant Professor of Economics,
            Stanford University
        --  Terry Moe, Professor of Political Science,
