WHAT:      The UCLA Anderson Forecast Conference will celebrate
           its 50th anniversary at an all-day event at The
           Anderson School at UCLA. Distinguished speakers from
           across the world will examine how the forces of
           globalization impact California and the nation,
           creating a vision of the state's future as it
           competes in the global economy.

           Titled "California in the Global Marketplace," the
           year-end conference will feature three parallel
           tracks on California's major trading partners, Asia,
           The Americas and Europe. The sessions will highlight
           business opportunities and economic challenges in
           these countries and how they affect California's
           economy. Toyota CEO Yoshi Inaba will provide the
           morning keynote, offering his perspective on the
           primary strengths and challenges present in the
           current California marketplace.

           Economists Edward Leamer, Tom Lieser and
           Christopher Thornberg will reveal their latest
           predictions for the state, nation and the world at
           2 p.m. The Forecasters will also present a special
           post-attack report, detailing the impacts of the
           September 11 tragedies on the economy.
