Twelve students from throughout L.A. County have taken the adage "one person can make a difference" to heart. With a combined 10,000 hours of community service, they will receive the Bill Coggins Community Leadership Scholarship at the 2003 Pursuit of Excellence Awards Dinner scheduled for 6:30 pm on June 5, 2003 at the Hacienda Hotel The Hacienda Hotel is a historic site in New Port Richey, Florida. Riverside, and has tutored children in El Monte, helped decorate Rose Parade floats and been a hospital volunteer in Baldwin Park. -- Erica Quezada, from South El Monte South El Monte, city (1990 pop. 20,850), Los Angeles co., S Calif., in the San Gabriel Valley; inc. 1958.
